Bienvenue A La Maison A Montréal Papa!

Yesterday was a very big day for us...after 12 LLLLOOOOONNNNGGGGG days, Jay came home from Peoria! Arabella and I had a good two weeks and we kept busy, but it is never easy for her when Jay is away. She understands that he is working, but not so much why he can't be there to read her stories at bedtime or have breakfast with her. It was different when she was a baby, she didn't realize he wasn't there (to an extent) but now that she is getting older and understands more it is sometimes difficult for her. And I know that it is sometimes hard for Jay. Sure, he gets to go to sleep and not be woken up early or in the middle of the night and he doesn't have to give her a bath or any of his other "normal parenting duties" but she is changing so quickly and he misses out on our day-to-day happenings. (Hence, one of the reasons, I do this blog...so he can see what we are up to!)

Yesterday, when she woke up in the morning, she asked if we could go get Daddy at the airport. She was so excited, but then I had to break the news to her that he was flying in after her nap...but when she did go down for her nap and I went in to wake her up, you could tell how happy she was that it was now time to go! We got changed and she had to wear a pretty princess dress...she picked it out all by herself! It was so cute to see that she could hardly contain her excitement on the drive to the airport...thank goodness it is about 10 minutes away. On the drive, we saw some planes fly over the highway as they went in for landings and she kept asking if that was Dad's plane...which none of them were Delta...so I had to tell her no...and the in typical Arabella fashion, she asked if they were Uncle Jeff's planes (since she knows he works for US Airways and any plane at any time can be one of "HIS planes"!) When we arrived at the passenger waiting area for customs, it was so busy and we had to wait and wait. Arabella kept looking at the arrivals board to see when it showed that Jay's plane landed...and finally it showed that he was here from Detroit!

Of course his plane landed at the same time as a few big planes from Paris, Doha and maybe JFK so the lines at Customs were long. She kept saying "Nope, not my Daddy" as people came out the exit, but as soon as she saw Jay (who was barely through the doors) she ran over to him! I think she caught him off guard...she was so happy and excited to see him!

Welcome Home Daddy!! We missed you and love you and are glad you are home! (And now Mommy gets a little bit of a break!)
