My Favorite Time of the Year
I love this time of the year. I love to decorate the house. I love to see the magic come alive through Max and Arabella. It really is a special time. Arabella loves to decorate too. She gets so excited when the bins come out and she loves helping find the perfect spot for each special decoration. Max is starting to understand it and had fun helping as well.
We picked out our tree and it was ready to be decorated! Max liked to take off the decorations as we put them on. The three of us had so much fun. I love to remember the special memories that I have with the ornaments when I unwrap them.
Cheers to Christmas!
Here Comes Christmas!
Waxhaw does a lot when it comes to community events and Christmas time is one not to be missed. They light up the downtown area with lights and have a pretty big holiday kick-off! It really helps to get you into the holiday spirit. We bundled up and ventured out to join in the fun.
They had an area with "snow" for the kids to play in. Max and Arabella enjoyed what was left of it...it really was a bit more like ice than snow.
Enjoying some hot cocoa!
We even got to see Elsa and hear her sing "Let it Go!"

Garden Experiment
We had a few pumpkins and gourds left from Halloween/Fall decorating and we decided to do an experiment with them. Arabella wanted to plant them in the garden to see if they will come up next Summer. We got out the mallet and went to work trying to crack them open. It was a tough job, but we finally did it. Once we opened them, we planted them in the garden. And now we wait to see what happens...

Caught You...
If he was a little older I think I might be a bit worried that he was emptying out the liquor cabinet....

Thanksgiving
We have so much to be thankful for - health, family, friends, our home - the list goes on and on. We had a wonderful day spent with friends and family. We enjoyed a wonderful meal. It is always nice to look back on a day and say that it was a good one. Today was one of those. I hope that everyone else enjoyed time with family and friends and are blessed in many, many ways. Happy Thanksgiving.
Charlotte's Thanksgiving Day Parade
I have always wanted to go to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, so when I heard that Charlotte has a pretty good parade on Thanksgiving, I was game. I invited Alicia, Steve and Victoria (one of Arabella's best friends from school) to join us at the parade and then for dinner. They don't have family nearby and it was nice to have a few more people in the house for the holiday. (Sometimes the holidays are hard for me...I miss having a house full of family for every holiday and birthday.)
We took the train Uptown to get to the parade. Max, Arabella and Victoria had fun. The train filled up quickly - I was surprised at how many people were headed to the parade!
It was a little chilly waiting for the parade to start.
But once it did, we had so much fun! There were bands, floats, cars and more to see! We all had a great time, even if it was a but windy and cold out. But then again, it is the end of November so it should be cold!
It was a great parade! We had fun and can check another item off our Charlotte To-do List!
