Thursday's Thoughts

Hearing: The steady rain and the sliding of snow and ice and it falls off the roof on this rainy-snowy-sleety day and night.

Tasting: A square of Swiss Delice dark 72% cocoa chocolate...YUM!

Seeing: Snow, sleet, rain, more snow, and finally rain. I wish Mother Nature would make up her mind and honestly, I really wish it was all snow.
Snow being removed in Montreal by the truck load!
Our driveway which has turned into a skating rink thanks to the snow, sleet and rain from today!

Smelling: The Pink Flamingo loose tea that Christa gave me from David's Tea. It smells so delish, I can't wait to try it tomorrow!

Feeling: Sore muscles in my back and neck after shoveling the heavy, wet snow off the front walk!

Winter Scene

This morning's storm left us covered in the most perfect white snow. When I went out to shovel the front walk today, I couldn't help but notice how smooth, fresh and pristine everything looked. It was so peaceful and beautiful!

In Like A Lion

The old saying that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb has been true around here. We have had a melange of weather lately - last week there was snow, some sun but cold and windy, some more snow flurries, then a very rainy and raw Saturday which turned into a icy and snowy Sunday and now it is a very, very snowy and windy Monday!

Yesterday, Arabella, Jay and Auntie Lori ventured out to enjoy the snow while I had some time at home to catch up on a few things and start some of my school work. It was nice to have a silent house and I was very productive while they were out playing. They had fun playing and exploring at the park!

The snow ended Sunday afternoon and just when we thought we would see the sun, we woke up to this:

and it is still snowing. Once again our front steps has disappeared and are no where in sight and I love how Arabella's snowman that she made weeks ago is still standing and now looks like a ghost!

As much as I want the snow to melt and Spring to snow her sunny face, we still have 13 more days of Winter so I am sure Mother Nature is going to make sure we get our fill!

Thursday's Thoughts

Hearing: The rush of the heat coming out of the floor vents! It seems like the furnace is getting a workout...it must be pretty cold out tonight!

Tasting: The Sicilian Supper that I made - Sausage and Rice Timbale. It was delish and everyone enjoyed it. Arabella even cleaned her plate!

Seeing: Arabia 3D. Today we ventured to the Montreal Science Center to catch this film in the Imax theater. The film was in French, which has pluses and minues. It is nice to be able to pick up on some of what they are talking about, but it is also nice to just focus on the film instead of what is being said. Arabella enjoyed it and loved the camels. She also would reach out to try and touch some things since it was in 3D and at one point, she even started dancing to the music in her seat. It was really fun and a very intersting film.

Smelling: Not much...I have a stuffy nose that I wish would go away!

Feeling: Thankful that I have been able to spend the last 2 weeks with my best friend and happy that we get another week with her!

Hot Off The Press

Photo by John Mahoney, The Gazette
I promise this will be the last Fancy Nancy post, at least for a little while or until the Arabella's next tea party. But I have to share this news that is hot off the press...she made the West Island Gazette! The article is short, but there are some adorable photos of Arabella, 3 to be exact! You can check out the article here - http://westislandgazette.com/node/20879 I love how the photos capture her looking sweet and coy and you can see she is having a fun time. I am so happy that we went to this event and we look forward to the next one!

Arabella's First Tea Party

Arabella had so much fun today at her Fancy Nancy Tea Party! For those of you you don't know who Fancy Nancy is, you can find out more here....http://www.fancynancyworld.com/#/home/
Before we left for the tea party, Arabella had to get dressed up in her princess skirt. She looked so adorable and had so much fun spinning around and showing off for Auntie Lori and I.

She was a little shy when we first got to the library and she didn't want us to leave, so Auntie Lori and I just stayed in the back of the room and every so often she would look over to make sure we were still there. At the beginning, the librarian introduced herself as "Fancy Nancy" and Arabella decided to stand up and introduce herself as "Arabella, this is mom, this is Auntie" - it was so sweet. She seemed to enjoy the Fancy Nancy stories that were read and then they made a fancy craft. The decorated foam crowns with sparkly stickers and craft jewels. She really had fun creating her crown and then she enjoyed the tea party. They served apple juice in fancy cups, cookies and a little piece of cake. Auntie Lori and I even got to help out with the serving. It was fun to see her enjoying the tea party.

Getting Ready for Fancy Nancy

One of Arabella's favorite story character's is Fancy Nancy so when I saw that our library was going to have a Fancy Nancy tea party, I decided to register her. At first she wasn't interested, but when I reminded her a few days ago, she got excited and has been talking about it ever since. This morning when I came up from working out, she was coming downstairs and she was already dressed...well part of the way. When I asked her about it, she exclaimed "Ancy Ancy Tea Party MOM!!!!!" Goodness, Arabella, you just melt my heart and I can't wait to go to the tea party with you today!
