Going For A Ride

Grammie bought the most adorable little wagon/push cart for Max.  Since he isn't big enough to play with it yet, Arabella has taken to putting things in it and giving them a ride...

Arabella's Green Thumb

Last week we picked up a few more plants to pot.  Arabella wanted to do one all on her own, so I let her pick out the plants she liked and then she potted them when we got home.  It of course it was all shades of pretty pink.  I think she did a great job and so far it seems to be doing well in the sun!

Summer is Here

It has felt like Summer since we arrived in Charlotte the beginning of April.  We have had a few cooler days here and there, but for the most part, it is sunny, hot, and humid.  Needless to say, my curly hair is showing its true colors and being very uncooperative!

But just because it is hot doesn't mean we sit inside in the air conditioning.  I am almost done with unpacking boxes...only 4 more to go!  We try to get out and enjoy some fresh air every day.  And we love our new backyard so that is where we spend most of our time.

Max loved watching Arabella play in the sprinkler!

We spent the better part of an afternoon blowing bubbles.  Arabella had fun telling and showing Max how to do it.  Such a great big sister!!

And last Sunday, we hit our new pool for the first time.  Arabella had fun swimming with Jay and made a few new friends.  It is a great pool...pretty good sized, with a water slide and a separate baby pool.  It wasn't too busy, we were told everyone was at church (welcome to the South), but on our way out, it was starting to pick up.  I know that once Arabella is out of school, we will be spending many days at the pool!

Max is 5 Months Old

I can't believe that 5 months ago, we were in snowy Montreal and at this time I was at the hospital for observation and waiting for Jay to arrive.  I wasn't even having contractions yet.  It is hard to believe that Max is 5 months old already.  He is growing so fast and does something new every day.  He loves rice cereal, his face lights up with a smile as soon as he hears Arabella's voice, he watches her like a little hawk, he is rolling over and talking a/k/a babbling a-mile-a-minute!  And he is usually only waking up once at night to eat.  Happy 5th Birthday my Bubs!  We love you!

Max Is On A Roll

I suspected Max was starting to roll for a while, but it is for sure now.  He is rolling from his back to his front and back again.  He gets so excited and he does it so fast.  Sometimes so fast that I can't get a picture of him doing it.  I can't believe how quick he is growing.  But I am so proud of you Max!!

These are about as good a picture I can get...I know the second one looks like he is asleep, but I assure you he isn't!

Happy 5th Birthday Arabella

It has been a little over a week since you turned 5!  I can't believe how quickly time is flying by.  I would have liked to have done this post for you on your actual birthday, but we both know we were having way, way too much fun at Walt Disney World!!

You will always be my baby girl, no matter how old you are.  And I love you so much - you won't have any idea until you have a first born of your own.  (Now this doesn't mean I love Maxton any less than you, but you have just had a piece of my heart longer than he has.) You make everything so much sweeter and you are the most caring and compassionate little girl I know.  You are always happy and smiling.  You love to dance, sing and do gymnastics.  You are a little fish too and have asked me if you can do diving lessons as well as your swim lessons.  You are so smart and goofy (just like your dad) and can be a bit of an drama queen (like me).  Since the day you were born, you have kept us on our toes.  It is hard to look at you now and see that little preemie who arrived 6 weeks early.  Thank you for making us parents and for letting me be your Mommy.  I hope that all your wishes and dreams come true, my Little Bean.  Happy Birthday!

Less than 2 hours old.

3 Days Old

You and Mommy spent hours like this at the hospital.

The day you got to go home...3 weeks after you were born.
