Day 3 on The Road - Delaware to Virginia

Day 3 was a beautiful day for driving.  It was a bit on the cooler side but the sun was shining and I knew that the further South we went the warmer it was going to get.  Before hopping in the car, we checked out some horses that were in the backyard of the hotel where we stayed.  They were so pretty and Arabella loved seeing them.

Only 393 km to go today.

And we made it to Virginia!

Day 2 On The Road - Connecticut to Delaware

We got back on the road on Easter Monday.  Next stop Wilmington, Delaware.  I had Arabella and Max in the car with me and they did great!  We had a few traffic slow downs, but that is to be expected since we were going through New York and New Jersey. I forgot how quick of a drive it is from Connecticut to Delaware and it was pretty easy too.  It was nice to get out of the car and into a hotel to relax, although as you will see towards the end of this adventure, I was very much done with hotel living!

Some of our sights along the way were...

Arabella was excited to get on the road.
383 km to go to our next stop...
The very pretty Merritt Parkway and Connecticut traffic.

At least Arabella slept through the New York City traffic!

 New York City from Jersey

I thought it was comical to see such a large arrow!

I'm a Bit Late...But Happy Easter

We celebrated Easter in Connecticut with Grampie, Auntie Margo and Aunt Moona and Cliff.  It was a nice day and we were happy to be able to spend it with family.  Arabella was so excited to wake up and see that the Easter Bunny had visited Auntie Margo's house...I think she was afraid, he might skip her since she wasn't in our house anymore.  She had a blast running around looking for eggs that he hid and then checking out what was inside!  Hopefully everyone had as nice of an Easter as we did!

 Yummy French Chocolates!
 So happy to see Grampie!
Grampie loved meeting Max and spending time with his Bella!

Max and Grampie snoozed!
 Arabella colored eggs!

 The best Easter dessert!
Zeppoles...or St. Joseph's Day pastry
Aunt Moona was very happy to meet Max!
Arabella loves playing Aunt Moona's piano!

Au Revoir Montreal

Our last Montreal moon on Friady night.
And the beautiful sunrise over the Lakeshore.

When Saturday, March 30th rolled around, I was ready...I had it in my mind to get on the road, before I was able to dig my heels in and stay in Montreal.  Before leaving, I had one more important breakfast to have...Arabella and I met Bram for breakfast in our hotel.  We couldn't leave without saying goodbye one last time.  We were able to relax a bit and say goodbye without too many tears.  Again, it wasn't easy for me to say goodbye to Bram...he has been such a great friend and we have had a ton of fun together.  I really do miss him, but thank goodness for FaceTime!

After breakfast, we packed up the hotel room and the cars and hit the road.

 We headed for the 20...
And then made our way South..

And before long, we were at the US Border in New York...

Customs was uneventful...thank goodness...and we continued on our way.  I had no idea how hard it was going to be for me once we crossed the Border.  I just started crying and couldn't stop.  I felt at home in Montreal and if we could have stayed there, I would have been happy.

We stopped and had lunch with Nana near Albany, but were quickly back on the road heading to our next stop, Aunt Margo's house in Connecticut.

Yes, this sign says "Connecticut Welcomes You"...so we made it!
This is not a permant goodbye...I promise to be back Montreal.  You will always have a special place in my heart.
