This year in Arabella's preschool class, she gets to bring home George, a stuffed gorilla, for the weekend. Just like Betsy from last year, George spends the weekend with us and then she writes (or rather I do the writing, she tells me what to write) about his weekend spent with us and then she also draws a picture. She was so excited to finally have a turn to bring him home. I was actually impressed with how much she played with him and included him in our weekend activities. He seemed to enjoy his weekend with us!

INSANE!!!
Right before Thanksgiving here in October, I was at the grocery store and noticed this on the ground...
Yes, that is right $53.11 for an approximately 16 pound turkey! Not organic, not free range, in fact nothing special, just a regular old Butterball! Totally INSANE!

Leaf Fun
I figured I had better finish up blog entries about Autumn before I dive right into Christmas ones since we are in full-on Christmas mode in this house!
A few weeks ago, Arabella and I did a little leaf clean up in the yard. We raked all the leaves into one huge pile and then had fun playing and jumping in the leaves (she did the bulk of the jumping since my baby bump won't allow me to do it!) She and I laughed and played for a long time! It was so much fun! Jay finally came out to snap some photos of us before he complained about it being too cold (you would think that we just moved here and he hasn't adjusted to Quebec Novembers...geeze!)

Thank You Uncle Bill
One of the posts that I have been wanting to do, but haven't had the courage to do, was one to say goodbye to Uncle Bill. It was in August that he left us and it is too long to have gone without doing this post. I am not sure why I haven't other than, it is one that will be hard to do and since being pregnant, my emotions are all over the place, I am not sure I can handle it. But needless to say, we miss you Uncle Bill, especially Arabella. You made a huge impression on her. Sometimes, when we are saying good night, she asks about you and what heaven looks like. She wants to know what you are doing and is you are happy - I tell her that you are happy, and are an angel watching over her, watching over us. She also wants to know if she will ever see you again, and I tell her that yes, someday in in far future, she will.
It was not easy to say goodbye to you. But, I know that you are no longer in pain and that you are at peace. You were a great uncle to Mike and I, and you were a great godfather to me. You always treated us like we were your kids and I know that I have many, many great memories of you. I remember when we started calling you UB, after we watched the movie Uncle Buck, many, many years ago, and that nickname stuck with you! Your humor and ability to make jokes was second to none and you always made sure that we were laughing. And you even did that with Arabella. She loved to take over your chair when we came to visit and you two would just hang out - it was the cutest thing. I hope you know how much you meant to me and that I miss you and think about you and that I love you. I will never forget all the things you have done for me. You were one of a kind UB and you will never be forgotten.

Even though you are no longer with us, yous spirit lives on. And you made one little girl very, very happy this past Halloween. One of the things that I remember most about you was your love for the holidays! Every holiday from Halloween through New Years Day (your Birthday) was decorated for and celebrated in a big way. One of the items we brought back from your funeral in August was a Halloween blow up decoration for the yard. Aunt Margo wanted us to have it and Arabella was very excited about bringing it home with us. So you can imagine her excitement when it was time to decorate the outside of our house for Halloween. She couldn't wait to set up the blow up. She helped Jay and could barely stand to wait to turn on the air. It was the cutest thing that she has done in a long time. Your spirit lived on in her that day. She was so proud of it and would check on it at dinner time to make sure that the blow up had turned on and was all lit up. I think that it was her favorite decoration of Halloween. Thank you UB, you made her Halloween that much more special.
One very happy little girl!!
*I am not sure that this post does your memory justice and that you truly know how much you are loved and missed UB.

Snow
We had snow on November 4th...but the ground wasn't cold enough for it to stick and it didn't last too long. Call me crazy, but now that it is cold, I want it to snow!!
Chloe's Birthday Party
Arabella's friend Chloe turned 5 and had a fun bowling birthday party! Arabella was so happy and thrilled that she could join Chloe to celebrate her special day! She had so much fun bowling, eating pizza and having yummy cake. Happy Birthday Chloe!

Happy Halloween
Arabella has been so excited about Halloween! It couldn't get here fast enough for her. She loved decorating outside the house and carving pumpkins and learning all about Halloween at school. She would proudly come home and tell me what the names were for witches, pumpkins, and ghosts in French. She loved doing all the crafts too!
We had a ton of fun carving pumpkins. Arabella loved to play in the goo and seeds and she did a pretty good job of carving out the bat she wanted to make on her pumpkin.
Arabella's school Halloween Party was on Tuesday and I volunteered to help out in the classroom. We also made treat bags to hand out to her classmates. I love the way they look - Halloween Glam! She had so much fun at school - they played many fun games and had yummy snacks. She dressed up as a fairy for school and looked too adorable!
That night we got to bring home her class "Boo Book". It was a group project that they all worked on together at school. It was a story book about what each person in her class wants to be for Halloween. We had so much fun reading it together.
Yesterday, Arabella was so excited. She couldn't wait for it to be trick-or-treat time!! Her excitement was so perfect. Instead of wearing costumes again to school, it was black and orange day. She loved her outfit and even had was adamant about wearing the headband the way she put it. (One day I am sure she will kill me for this picture!)

When I picked her up from school, she could barely contain her excitement!! We hurried home to make dinner and get ready for her and dad to go out trick-or-treating! She loved dressing up like Belle from Beauty and the Beast and was excited to have her make-up done! This year I opted for handing out the candy but I did take her to her friend, Parker's house. She scored way, way too much candy and we we will be donating some of it to Operation Gratitude so they can send it to our troops overseas. She had a great night and fell right to sleep last night! We hope everyone had as much fun as we did!! Happy Halloween!!
