Maxton is 2!!

I can't believe it.  My little Bubs is 2!  How can that be?  Time is just going by so very fast and Max is growing up too quickly.  I don't remember time going this quick when Arabella was little.

You have brought such happiness and joy to our lives.  It is hard to remember what it was like without you.  You are a silly, giggly guy who loves to be rough and tumble but also gives good little snuggles.  You are so sweet when you want to be and can be very curious too.  You love Arabella and miss her while she is at school.  You get so excited to see the school bus when we pick her up in the afternoon.  You will get into anything and can make a mess in no time.  You sure do keep us on our toes and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Happy 2nd Birthday Maxton! I love you more than you will ever know!

Max woke up to 2 balloons outside his bedroom door.

It wasn't long before he was back playing with his new birthday gifts!

Arabella gave him his special present - a scooter like hers!

He was so excited to ride it and get it outside!

He loved his big truck and blocks from Auntie Lori!

Early Birthday Celebration

We had an early birthday celebration for Max today.  Mom is leaving to go home tomorrow morning and we wanted her to be a part of his special day.  He has been into Thomas the Train lately so Arabella decided that is what should be his theme.

His cake was Thomas....

Arabella helped me decorate the dining room for him while he took a nap.  She wanted it to be a big surprise for her baby brother!

He was so adorable when he saw his cake with the candles.  It was the sweetest thing ever.

He loved his cake and couldn't wait to dig in!  He was also very excited about being able to open up his birthday presents.  Arabella helped him and they had fun doing it together....not too sure how much longer that will last!

We all had a fun party and Max loved being the center of attention!  Happy Early 2nd Birthday Max!

New Years Eve

I can't believe that it is time to turn the page on another year.  Where did you go 2014 and how are you already behind us?  So many things have happened over the past year - some good, some bad - I have learned from them and look forward to growing and learning more in the coming year.

As I write this, I am the only one still awake and ready to ring in the new year.  2015, you are coming whether we are ready or not.  I will toast you with my favorite champagne and I am open to all that you hold for me.

I hope that 2015 is a year of growth, knowledge, health and happiness.  I will accomplish new things and learn to let things go.  I will try to be more present and a kinder, gentler person.  This year will be filled with family and fun, so come on in 2015, I am ready.

Discovery Place Children's Museum

We received a membership to the Discovery Place Children's Museum last Christmas and we never used it.  Mainly because it was located in Huntersville, about an hour away from us and traffic can be a nightmare.  We decided we should at least get one visit out of it and since the membership expired today, we made the trip north.  It was fun and also busy since they were doing New Years Eve activities for the kids.  It is a great museum with lots of hands on learning for the kids - both Arabella and Max enjoyed it - I just wish it was closer.

Arabella spent a lot of time in the Pet Vet area...go figure!

Max loved the construction site area!

Arabella worked on a car!

And they had a balloon drop for the kids at noon.  It was very loud but it was fun with all the balloons falling all around!
