Uncle Mike Meets Max and Visits Charlotte

Two days after we closed on the house, we had our first visitor...UNCLE MIKE!!  Arabella was so excited to see him, she couldn't wait and hated that she hadn't seen him in so long.  She loves her Uncle Mike.  And Baby Max got to meet Uncle Mike for the first time.  As soon as we got to the airport, I was able to park in the fire lane and wait for him to come out...Arabella ran to him as soon as he came out the door.  What a welcome!

And then Uncle Mike got to meet Max.  It was so sweet.

We didn't get too much unpacking done when Uncle Mike was here, but that is OK, it was a short visit and it was more important that we spent time hanging out and having fun!  We needed that after our whirlwind move!

Thanks for visiting Uncle Mike!  We can't wait for you to come back!

1st Artwork on the Wall

The very first piece of artwork we hung, or rather Arabella hung, on the walls of our new house was the fingerprint tree that our friend in Montreal, Caroline Handy painted for us.  We had all of our friends put their fingerprints/thumbprints on the painting and now it hang in our foyer.  We can see it everyday and it reminds us of the roots we have in Montreal.  Everyone who places a fingerprint on the tree holds a very special place in our hearts.

Moving In Day

The movers arrived bright and early (7 am!!) the very next day to move our things in...only there was one small problem.  Our street is too narrow for the huge moving truck to fit down!  So they had to improvise, they rented a small UHaul truck, unloaded from the big truck into it and then drove it to our house and unloaded it and then it was repeated many times throughout the day!

This is what we saw when Arabella, Max and I arrived in our neighborhood.

We even had a few items crated and they had to uncrate in the street.

Even with the extra step, they seemed to unload our things very quickly and the house went from this...

To being full of boxes!

Love

This picture is worth a thousand words, but mostly it says LOVE.

Our New House

We couldn't be more excited about our new house!  Arabella loves it, we have a great backyard and plenty of room for family and friends to come visit and the neighborhood is great!!

We let Arabella be the first one to open the door!  She was so happy to be home!

Neighborhood Walk

After we closed on the house, we had to wait for the previous owners to get a few items out of the house before it was officially ours.  So while we waited for the green light to say it was now ours, we took a walk around the neighborhood.  It is nice because there are great green spaces and trails.  We had fun exploring the area and will be sure to be out there again soon!

Crazy Allergies

I think it is going to take awhile for all of us to adjust to the new plants, trees, flowers, etc. here.  Our allergies have been acting up like crazy and the pollen is insane.  Look at my car - it no longer looks blue but green!
