Little Bookworm

When Arabella takes her nap, she always asks for a book to read. When I went to check on her the other day, this is what I found. She looked too cute not to take a picture!

Valentine's for Arabella

Yesterday, Arabella received the majority of the mail we received from Poste Canada. She couldn't wait to open the envelopes and box that she received. She was so excited I didn't have a chance to fix her messy hair from her nap, she went right to the envelopes! She had fun reading the cards from Grammie, Aunt Margo and Uncle Bill and Aunt Vivi. She even got two really adorable outfits from Aunt Vivi, what a nice surprise and Valentine's present! Arabella is blessed with wonderful family and friends who are more like family. She is one lucky little girl! Thank you all for thinking of her! We miss you and love you. Arabella sends Valentine hugs and kisses your way!

Arabella's Bedroom

I finally finished Arabella's bedroom. The last item was her curtains, and I must say, making curtains is harder than it looks. Good thing I still have the sewing machine that my grandparents gave me as an 8th grade graduation present. For my first time doing something like that I think they came out pretty good. Every now and then I drag it out to do a small project and I am surprised at what I can do. And the only reason that I made the curtains is because I have had a hard time finding curtains that match her bedding now that Pottery Barn has discontinued her bedding set! However, I am not sure that I will attempt curtains again! Despite the color on the walls, the curtains and everything else looks pretty good in her new room. There is plenty of room for her to read and play. Jay put up the book shelf that she had in her room in Ohio as well. She seems to be enjoying the larger room and has made herself right at home!

All Tuckered Out

Yesterday, Arabella helped me do a little cleaning and organizing around the house. She also got new wellies a/k/a rain boots and she had to try them on. But she would not put on her pants with them so I let her walk around the house in her boots and onesie. She liked them so much she wore them around the house for at least 2 1/2 hours and even fell asleep wearing them!

She also got a new pair of flip flops, she looks so cute in them. She is a girl after my own heart...I just hope she doesn't have the same flip flop obsession that I have, Jay will not be amused!

Dining Room

The dining room is finished! I was finally able to get Jay to get rid of the moving boxes over the weekend and now we have a fully functioning dining room!

Sunshine and Sledding!

Friday morning was a bright, sunny day so Arabella and I bundled up and headed out to Beaver Lake to join the Wee Wiggles for some sledding. Arabella was not too sure what to make of sledding this time around, it was only her second sledding trip. At first she was OK with it and then she didn't want to go down the hill. Beaver Lake at Mont Royal is a great outdoor park. The sledding hill has various drops for different thrill seekers. We definitely stayed on the "kiddie" end, but even so, she seemed a little scared. I think she also thought that the other kids who were sledding were getting hurt as they went down the hill because she kept saying "oh no" and usually she says that when something is wrong. Anyway, it was great to get out in the fresh air even if it was only for a little bit. It tired her out enough that she fell asleep in the car on the way home!

Spring Project

As I was wasting time on the internet this afternoon, when I really should have been organizing my closet, I came across this great idea!

I would love to make the framed chalkboard for Arabella's playroom! I just may be getting to "crafty" for my own good. But hey, I do need something to pass the time when my Little Bean is napping!
