Myrtle Beach Vacation - Part 1

Our last summer getaway before school started was a road trip to Myrtle Beach.  It is about a 3 hours drive for us...too far in my book since I am such a beach girl...but not much I can do about that.  It is a nice ride - no direct routes, just back country roads.  We are all looking forward to enjoying the beach and getting away one last time, so we backed up the car and hit the road.  (I forgot how much stuff you actually need for a beach vacation - I was SO SPOILED spending my summers at the beach house in Westbrook.)  Anyway, we made it and we happy when we arrived at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club.  It was right on the beach which is amazing - our room had great views and we couldn't wait to settle in and enjoy our stay.

Once we were settled into our room, we couldn't wait to get to the beach.  It was Max's first time at the beach and he loved it.  Arabella was so excited too!  I just love that my kids are beach baby's like me!

The moon our first night was incredible.  There is nothing more calming for me than to be at the beach and hear the ocean waves as I fall to sleep.

The next morning, Arabella and I were up early - we had breakfast on the balcony and then went down to the beach.  You couldn't keep us away.  We took a walk and found some pretty seashells.  It was nice to just spend some girl time together.

We spent the day on the beach and then after dinner went back for a family walk.  Arabella and Max loved exploring the beach - it didn't matter what time of day it was!

The second morning was overcast and there were huge waves at the beach.  Arabella couldn't wait to try out her boogie board.  The waves were huge and we had fun getting tossed around in them.  The power of the ocean is amazing.

Max and Jay enjoyed the pool and Arabella took a Mermaid Swim Class.  She is now an "Official Ripley's Aquarium Mermaid"!

We rounded out the afternoon with some music and entertainment at the pool before heading back to the beach to enjoy low tide!  It was a great day!
