Arabella received a "super"hero surprise in the mail one day after school. Bram and the rest of the boys found her the cutest superhero cape from the Montreal Children's Hospital gift shop...she absolutely loves its!! It hangs on the back of her chair at the kitchen table when she isn't wearing it. She was so excited when she opened the box - she put it on immediately and ran around the house! Thank you Bram, Pierre, Micki and Ronald for the surprise!

Homework!!
So much for Kindergarten being a time to play and grow...here they start them early and really get down to business. Arabella has between 30 - 60 minutes of homework a night! I remember playing and having fun in Kindergarten, I guess those days are gone. She has to complete at least 20 minutes of reading a night, sight word review, work sheets and other assignments...and we keep track of it all in an agenda! At least we have been having nice weather that is not too warm so we end up trying to complete our work on the patio...at least that makes it tolerable!
Surprise Visit From Grammie
While Jay was away, he surprised me (and Max & Arabella) with an early Birthday present...a visit from Grammie! It was a great surprise and we enjoyed having her here for a weekend while he was away. An extra set of hands was much appreciated and Arabella loved having someone else to play with! It was a very quick trip but we made the most out of our 2 days together. Arabella was so excited when she came out of school and saw Grammie in the car and as soon as we got home, she had to show Grammie her cartwheels!
Grammie showed Arabella a few new tricks with the hula hoops...they spent what seemed like hours playing with the hoops! I loved hearing them laugh together.
Grammie and Max had fun too! Grammie made sure she received lots of Max snuggles before she went home!
Thanks for coming to visit us Grammie!! We had so much fun and can't wait to see you again soon!

Saturday was a rainy day so we did a few errands and the Gymboree Store at the mall was having a free craft time we we checked it out. Arabella had fun making a owl with her hand prints and then decorating it. She even used a feather to put a bow on the owls head!

Jay's 19 Day Work Trip to Arizona
September went by in a blur! With all the new schedule changes for Arabella and Jay being away for almost the whole month, we really don't know where the month went. We kept busy during the time he was away and really got into a good routine. Both Max and Arabella were great, which made the time he was way go back quickly. His trip to Tinaja, Arizona was for training mostly, they actually helped build a road on the proving grounds. On the weekends, he was able to do a bit of sightseeing.
Pretty nice place he stayed out....

Mischievous Max
As I was looking at the photos on the memory card to do updates here, I came across a ton of pictures of Maxton...being mischievous as ever. He is into everything and so very curious. He totally keeps me on my toes!

9 Months Old
How is it possible that Max is 9 months old already, 3/4 of a year?!?!?! He is growing so quickly and he never ceases to amaze me. He is babbling up a storm, loves to pull himself up and get into trouble in the pantry or kitchen cabinets. He is so curious and wants to be in the middle of everything. He wants to eat "our" food, but those pesky teeth still haven't made an appearance yet. He will hold his own bottle, but prefers not to. And he is one quick crawler! Happy 9 months Maxton...it is hard to believe you have been part of our family for 9 months but it is also hard to remember our family without you. I love you Bubs!
