Crazy Allergies

I think it is going to take awhile for all of us to adjust to the new plants, trees, flowers, etc. here.  Our allergies have been acting up like crazy and the pollen is insane.  Look at my car - it no longer looks blue but green!

New Preschool Picnic

We were able to get Arabella enrolled into a new preschool fairly quickly.  Although she misses Magic Circle, her teachers and her friends terribly, she is doing well at her new school.  She likes it but will tell me on an almost daily basis that she misses everyone.  The poor thing even told me that she misses her old school because they do much better craft project...and so far, I tend to agree with her.  Nevertheless, her school had a class picnic and parents were invited.  She was so excited to have Max and I join her and her classmates for lunch.  It was fun and we all had a good time.

Mango Salsa

I have a new food obsession, thanks to Seb and his surfing days in Mexico!  On our last Friday night in Montreal when we had dinner with our friends, we enjoyed an amazing mango salsa.  It is so good I could eat a whole bowl.  I have made it a few times since we moved here and it looks like it is going to be a staple in my diet.  It is so fresh and good for you too.  And it is super easy to make.  All you need is (and this depends on how much you want to make):

1-2 mangos
1 jalapeno, seeded and diced
fresh basil
juice of 1 lime
fresh cracked black pepper, to taste

Mix it all up and enjoy!

How To Keep Busy in a 2 1/2 Week Hotel Stay

We stayed at the hotel in Charlotte for 2 1/2 weeks!  Now, I love staying in a hotel and the one we stayed in was very nice - it had a good hot breakfast every morning and we had a big 2 bedroom suite with a kitchen.  But when you are not on vacation and you have a 3 month old and a 4 1/2 year old to keep busy, it can get old, and get old fast!  We tried our best to get out and do things each day, but with all the changes and being so far off our schedule and tired, it was hard.

To keep the TV turned off and to stay active we...

Did our laundry (against my better judgment and not really having a choice, we used the hotel guest laundry room).  I put the laundry basket in the car seat stroller, put Max in a baby carrier, and Arabella helped push the stroller and load the laundry.

Went for walks and enjoyed the Spring flowers.

Max started teething!

Arabella played golf...although her swing is more hockey-esque than a golf swing.  I wonder why...too much hockey on the playground.
 Max snoozed while she played.

She even got Jay to play one night.
We played in the fountain.

And Max did tummy time!

First Swim

One evening when we were at the hotel in Charlotte, we decided to head down to the indoor pool to relax a bit.  Arabella is a little fish, and I expect Max will be the same.  He looked so cute in the little swim trunks and I took him in.  He wasn't really sure what to make of it and he didn't last long, I think in part to the water being on the cool side.  But we will try again, soon.

Day 4 on The Road - Virginia to North Carolina

Day 4 was a good driving day, but you could tell that we were getting sick of being in and out of the car and hotels.  Arabella and Max were troopers through the whole thing, but towards the end, Arabella was asking if we were there yet.  I don't blame her, I was done with driving too.  But in the end, we made it and were very happy to see the hotel in Charlotte!

 459 km to go!

And we made it to Charlotte!!

3 Months Old

Max turned 3 months old in the middle of our road trip!
